The Inter-Parliamentary Assembly "Ukraine-Poland-Lithuania"
will be held in Kyiv on 21-23 March 2011. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement at the opening of the
inter-parliamentary assembly "Ukraine-Poland" in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He stated that the sitting will be dedicated to the humanitarian cooperation, which is "an important factor of European identity." "To quote M. Sivec, Ukraine is not a neighbour of Europe, but a neighbour in Europe," the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament stated.
V.Lytvyn declared, "We addressed the European Parliament President with a request to organize meetings between the speakers of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania and the European Parliament members and leaders to involve Ukraine to the European affairs."
